"You can take a boy out of Liverpool, but you can never take Liverpool out of the boy." - The Beatles

Liverpool. What's your immediate reaction to that word? City? England? Or... Football? Or perhaps, The Beatles?

I was so fortunate to go to Liverpool last month. Although, it was a day trip... I had fun. The moment our bus reached Albert Dock, I was immediately captivated by the beauty of the city. It was different. It was picturesque. It was this part of England that was so fundamental and monumental at the same time. It was just unimaginable.

Most English cities that I have visited are quite old...in a very stunning way. However, for a port city like Liverpool - everything was pretty much expected to be more modern. For starters, the city had skyscrapers. I guarantee you, that is NOT something that Nottingham (where I currently live) has.

It was really unfortunate that I didn't have the chance to visit the famous football stadium in Anfield, Liverpool. My travel group only visited the heart of Liverpool, which included Albert Dock, Liverpool One, Museum of Liverpool, etc. Most of the attractions in the city center are free - except if you want to go ride up on the ferris wheel.

Overall, it was a great day. The wind was quite strong but there's nothing that my Zara coat can't do for me. It kept me warm enough. Not too mention how my Nike shoes became my savior of the day - due to too much walking. I'm so thankful I wore that outfit that day. Looking forward to my next trip!
