#explorelombok with Garuda Indonesia

July 28, 2015

Hi guys! First of all, I would like to say Happy Eid Mubarak to those who celebrate. I know I'm a little bit behind but I've been working hard for this post.

During the Eid Mubarak holiday - my family and I had a family trip to Lombok Island which is located in West Nusa Tenggara in Indonesia. Thanks to Garuda Indonesia, we made it there safe and sound!

Lombok is the less crowded version of Bali. The beauty of the island is still here. Completely untouched. With the sun shining down on me, my hair dancing in the wind - I finally came to a conclusion of my top 5 picks of places to go to in Lombok Island that is worth my sun-kissed skin!

1. The Gili Islands

The Gili Islands consists of three small islands: Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. Well, the Gili Islands are notttt exactly a part of Lombok. But! They are easier to reach via Lombok instead of via Bali. With a 10 mins boat ride from the port of Bangsal, you will reach the Gilis in no time!

2. Tiu Kelep Waterfall

This waterfall is one of the most spectacular waterfalls I have ever seen in my life! After an approximate 1 hour walk down the hills of Lombok, I was able to see this stunning view!

3. Malimbu Cliff

The most popular site for breathtaking sunset in Lombok. Mornings are okay for me too. Here's a hair flip all way from Malimbu Cliff.

4. The Southern Beaches

Life's a beach! But sometimes it is wonderful too. I was so happy that I was able to explore different beaches along the Southern coast of Lombok. I went to Selong Belanak Beach, Mawun Beach, Kuta Beach and Tanjung Aan Beach. I didn't forget to take a picture along the way.

Selong Belanak Beach

You should totally visit Laut Biru Bar & Restaurant in Selong Belanak Beach. Its interior design is killer!

Mawun Beach

Kuta Beach

Tanjung Aan Beach

Don't forget to stop along at Ashtari Cafe on your way from Mawun Beach to Kuta Beach. It's a cafe on top of a hill with a priceless view.

5. Senggigi Beach

And... the beach that was only five minutes walk away from the hotel that I stayed in. My family and I were very blessed to be able to see this sunset. We are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to explore Lombok... only with Garuda Indonesia.
