Street Style Inspiration: Zeyi Wen

June 2, 2016

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Tina, a Year 4 student at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. My major is English language and applied linguistics. I'm also a member of the school's street dance group Shuffle Crew. I am interest in hip-hop culture and fashion.

How did you become interested in fashion?
My ongoing interest in fashion started in high school. A poster on a street billboard for the New Silk Road Teen Model Competition just popped into my eyes. Out of curiosity, I signed up. Quite unexpectedly, I became one of the top ten finalists. It was the joy of winning the competition that attracted me into the exploration of the fashion world.

What are your dreams and aspirations?
My dream is to become a significant force in the Asian market since being of Chinese origin, and I am most familiar with this market. Eventually, I would like to establish my own fashion label and to build a fashion library in China, which is for sharing and exchanging fashion clothing. I hope that my personal label and the library can be promoted to all people who love fashion.

How would you describe your style? What's your favorite look at this moment?
I prefer Normcore style or sports style since I like dancing. I like to wear long dresses, I also like off-shoulder top with high-waist jeans. Crop top is also my favorite item for the summer.

Where do you get your fashion inspirations?
I tend to get my inspiration from Instagram, fashion blogs, and also online fashion shops. I also like to look out for street snap from Instargram, it gives me a lot of inspirations.

Where do you shop? What are your favorite brands?
I often go online shopping at Shopbop, MyTheresa as well as Nasty Gal. My favorite luxury brand is Celine due to its normcore style. My favotire high-street brand is Topshop because it is affordable. My favorite footwear brands are Valentino, Roger Vivier due to their elegance.
